Laboratory Specialists

<< RETURN TO CASE STUDY

The CDC is replacing an existing laboratory with a state of the art facility at their Fort Collins, Colorado campus. This facility will include an Insectary and Vivarium that will be used to research diseases transmitted from insects and small mammals.

ViroCon is currently providing commissioning services during the design phase for construction of a new laboratory building and a transshipping/visitors center building at the CDC Foothills Campus in Fort Collins, Colorado.

These facilities will replace existing buildings housing the National Center for Infectious Disease (NCID) Division of Vector-Borne Infectious Diseases (DVBID) program. The project will be constructed in two phases. At this time the estimated construction costs are $60 Million for phase one. Unique aspects of this project for NCID include an insectary to house insects that transmit diseases to humans and BL3Ag facilities for the study of diseases in small animals.
